Wear Is Love

Participants are invited to put cloth over unloved or injured parts of their body. Artists and participants will focus on sending positive messages to them. Location: Queens Blvd. near Goldsmith St. Elmhurst.

About the artist:

 

Long Island City-based artist  who explores beliefs and behavior through drawing, installation, and human interaction, often inviting the public to co-create these investigations. Social practice and physical making are both important in her work. In 2013 and 2009 Stadler received support from the Queens Council on the Arts to do interactive projects and solo shows (FAVORS and ORQ[The Oracle of Random Quotes]). The QCA included her as an Artist Peer Circle member for 2013-14 in their first socially engaged artist circle. In 2011 Stadler was invited to Chicago’s Mess Hall as a visiting artist, where she developed the first iteration of FAVORS. She has participated in many exhibitions and has done residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, The Contemporary Artists Center (Troy, NY) and ACRE (Chicago and Wisconsin).
