How do we strengthen this connection between seniors and the community?

Some seniors own homes in the community with outdoor spaces while many students live in apartment buildings. RPGA Studio would like to create a framework whereby the students and seniors come together and work side-by-side to grow flowers and vegetables in outdoor spaces. Once we develop the framework, we would like to share it with other homeowners to replicate this project. Alderton House will be used to incubate this idea.

Why does this connection matters?

Often seniors live alone in their homes and kids spend a

great deal of time alone because parents are working. If we can combine the wisdom of seniors with the enthusiasm of youth, we can decrease isolation and increase understanding, wisdom, and compassion in our communities.
